Sorted hashlists

When adding a new hashlist, the interface says "make sure it's sorted!". Why is this a requirement? What happens if they are not sorted?

I realized that a couple of my existing hashlists are not sorted, so I'm just wondering whether I need to restart the corresponding tasks.

Basically, this is a quite old leftover from earlier versions. The only important thing is that the list is unique (which normally goes together with sorting it, e.g. using sort -u), because otherwise the load is higher when working on it.

But beside that there is not an issue if it was not sorted at import. I think this was there, only regarding the import process itself, afterwards there should not really be a difference.
