multiple hash types for one hash?
#1
Hello there,
I am new to Hashtopolis. So far it seems like an awesome tool but I have got a question about the usage:

If I have a raw hash and I am not sure about the hash type, what is the best way to create a task with multiple modes (e.g. veracrypt 13711 & 13722). For me it seems, that I need to create multiple hash lists with different hash types and create a task for each one of them. Is there a possibility to make this easier?

Thank you in advance.

The hashlist ist directly tied to a specific Hashcat mode which cannot easily be changed at a later point. Also it would make it harder to have a history of which tasks were exactly run in which mode if a switching in between would be possible.
So you guessed it correct, that you have to create a separate hashlist for each mode you wanted to try for example on a Veracrypt dump.

Thank you for your fast reply. Hmmm... but it would be nice to select multiple hash types and by doing so, create multiple tasks at once.

if you have many tasks/hashlists to create, take a look at the User API, so you can script such actions.
